Prior to forming Money and Me Solicitors Ltd (MMS) in 2020, Money and Me Claims Ltd (MMC) was founded by David Miller in 2009 and has since enjoyed an enviable track record in the pension claims sector, thanks to a success rate consistently above 95% for claims referred to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and above 80% for claims referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Money and Me Solicitors Ltd (MMS) was formed as a result of David Miller joining forces with Damian Allison, who, having qualified as a Litigation Lawyer in 1994, brings a wealth of legal experience to the team. Building on the success and experience of David and Damian, Money and Me Solicitors aims to achieve similar, if not better results for its clients.

Below is just one Royal Mail case study taken from thousands of successful mis-selling cases that David and his team won with MMC.

Client 1.

Having been a member of the Royal Mail Pension Scheme (RMPS) from August 1996 to July 2011 (nearly 15 years), Mr W, acted on, what has now been proven to be unsuitable advice, and in February 2014, transferred his preserved RMPS into a Self-Invested Personal Pension arrangement (SIPP). The RMPS confirmed that the cash equivalent transfer value of Mr W’s pension was £127,689.49. However, after various fees were deducted, only £121,866.29 was transferred into his new pension arrangement.

Despite being transferred out of the RMPS for just over 10 years only, in November 2021, MMC established that had Mr W remained in the RMPS, the equivalent ‘hypothetical value’ of that pension would have been £496,703.82. At the same time, it was established that his current pension arrangement was valued at £121,866.29, resulting in Mr W suffering an actual loss of £374,837.53.

On 22nd November 2021, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) awarded Mr W £50,000 in compensation for the losses he’d suffered. At the time, this was the maximum payment he was entitled to receive under the FSCS rules.

The compensation awarded did not affect Mr W’s existing pension arrangements, and work is underway to establish whether additional claims can be pursued.
